VINE HOPS BEER AND WINE TOURS
2024
Branding and Transportation System Design.
At Vine Hops Beer and Wine Tours, we aim to provide the best experience of the Northern Michigan beer and Wine scene located mainly along the M22 route.
Through our Hop On Hop Off bus system, tourists and locals can “hop on” in any of the six cities we stop in. Our busses make stops in the local downtown areas for pickup and tourism, alongside our stops at each brewery and winery. Hop on or off at any time
Conceptualizing and Sketching
The Northern Michigan area is very isolated in the colder months, and then becomes live with tourists from Memorial - Labor Day. People often retire here, purchase a summer home/cottage or look to take a weekend away in the area.
The M22 route runs alone Lake Michigan, and Sleeping Bear Dunes skyrocketed the location to fame in the early 2000’s. It is known for its gorgeous hiking, cozy towns, amazing food, local produce, and abundance of wineries, cider mills, and breweries.
The original name, HOPS, was changed to Vine Hops in order to portray the beer and wine aspect of the brand more clearly. I did this because I needed to incorporate the wine element, while also using the “hop” approach to represent the service, “hopping” from place to place while also being a reference back to beer.
I also began to sketch the brand icon, focusing on imagery combining hops/beer + vines/wine. The bunny idea explored a playful mascot logo, and this was the direction I explored further.
